Secure WiFi combines state-of-the-art security with convenient device management features (from the My CenturyLink website or app) to put you in the driver’s seat of your home network.

La tecnología WiFi Seguro brinda seguridad contra muchas amenazas en línea, como virus, malware, ataques de botnets y demás contenido malicioso. Secure WiFi is included with compatible modems (C4000 models) leased from CenturyLink after August 14, 2020. There are three ways to confirm that you have Secure WiFi:

1. Check for Secure WiFi in My CenturyLink

The easiest way to see your Secure WiFi options is when you're signed in to My CenturyLink. Navigate to Services, then scroll down to see your modem and network information. If you see a section for Secure WiFi Device Groups, then you have this feature.

2. Look for Secure WiFi on your bill

You will see "Modem lease with Secure WiFi" under Additional Charges and Credits on your monthly billing statement. Esto suele estar en la página 3 de tu factura.

3. Sign in to modem settings

Puedes check your modem user settings to see your Secure WiFi status. Sign in to the Advanced Setup area and scroll down to the last menu option, Cyber Security. If Secure WiFi is active on your modem, you'll see "Modem Security On" and cyber-security state as "Protected."

Las funciones de WiFi Seguro no estarán activas hasta que se instale el módem y se actualice el firmware. En algunos casos, el módem ejecutará las actualizaciones de firmware necesarias hasta 72 horas después de la instalación.

WiFi Seguro está incorporado en el módem compatible con CenturyLink, que se encuentra entre Internet y todos los dispositivos de tu red doméstica.

Si intentas visitar un sitio web riesgoso, WiFi Seguro te protegerá mostrando una  página de advertencia que aconseja que no te dirijas al sitio sospechoso.

Puedes verificar si WiFi Seguro está activo visitando este sitio web: testsecurewifi.com (copia y pega, o escribe la URL en una ventana del navegador)

Importante: asegúrate de realizar esta prueba rápida desde un dispositivo que esté conectado al módem de CenturyLink (con cable o inalámbrico). La prueba no funcionará si no estás conectado a Internet a través del módem de CenturyLink.

Cómo funciona la prueba:

1. Abre una nueva ventana del navegador e ingresa esta dirección de sitio web: testsecurewifi.com

2. Si WiFi Seguro está activo, se abrirá una ventana con un mensaje de "¡Felicitaciones!" (ver ejemplo). Esto confirma que Secure WiFi está activo. Una vez finalizada la prueba, ya puedes cerrar la ventana.

3. Si WiFi Seguro no está activo, se abrirá un sitio web con la explicación de qué hacer a continuación.

Secure WiFi is built in to C4000 modems leased from CenturyLink. This "always on" feature protects your network and devices around the clock. At this time, there is no option to disable or remove Secure WiFi.

Instead, access these network controls through the CenturyLink app:
